First Year Seminar

The First Year Seminar, a CUNY course, is tailored to support new students in making a pivotal transition by equipping them with the essential tools for success beyond AUPE. Through active engagement with peers, students participate in projects designed to enhance their interpersonal skills in both written and verbal formats. The course covers a variety of academic topics aimed at helping students identify and cultivate their intellectual, professional, and ethical values. Additionally, students are introduced to college resources, academic success strategies, and time management skills while also beginning to explore preliminary career plans, fostering a solid foundation for their future endeavors.

Principles of Engineering

The Principles of Engineering class at AUPE offers a unique perspective on viewing the world through the lens of an engineer, emphasizing problem-solving through creativity and teamwork. This upper-level class incorporates interdisciplinary practices and specializes in our observable community. Students actively engage in diverse activities such as robotics, physics, design, and even boat races, fostering a hands-on approach to learning and practical application of engineering principles.
